George Crumb possesses one of the most distinctive voices in modern music, which blends the craftsmanship of Bach with the theatricality of Mahler and folk music from around the world. PYXIS
MEREDITH AMADO, violin
HIROKO YAMAZAKI, piano
AMY LEONARD, viola
JIE JIN, cello

One of the highlights of last season was a recital by David Amado and his wife Meredith, a fine violinist. This season she returns with Pyxis, a piano quartet that serves as ensemble in residence at the Delaware Art Museum.

“The Pyxis Quartet is brand-new, but you would not know it by their ensemble playing…the entire concert was delightful.”
