On February 26, 2011, for the eleventh consecutive year on Educators Night, the Delaware Symphony Orchestra will present the annual Jessie Ball duPont Educator Award, recognizing a music educator who has had a significant impact in the field of music education.
Jessie Ball duPont was a schoolteacher before she married the Symphony’s founder, Alfred I. duPont, and was catapulted into the world of philanthropy.  Her appreciation for education endured throughout her life. The award was created to recognize a music educator in an elementary, middle, high school or college system. The winner is chosen by members of Delaware Symphony's Education Committee, a group composed of past and present educators and community members.  The award includes a $1000 honorarium, engraved plaque, and formal recognition at our annual Educators Night concert.
Please nominate this year’s award recipient by February 1, 2011.
