Each program contains program notes about the music. The hall opens at 6:30 p.m. to patrons so you are welcome to arrive then to allow ample time to read about the music being performed.
On Mondays prior to all Classics concerts, Music Director David Amado hosts pre-concert talks about the music to be performed that week. These events take place via Zoom, and all are invited to attend. If you would like to join us, please contact the DSO offices in advance at 302-656-7442 or firstname.lastname@example.org so that we may send the link via email. All pre-concert talks are recorded and re-released on Thursdays before the Friday evening concerts.
Concerts begin at 7:30 p.m., and we make every effort to begin on time. The hall opens for seating an hour prior to the performance. Please allow ample time to park, pick up your tickets and settle in.
Single tickets, purchased in advance by calling 302-656-7442 or online at delawaresymphony.org, can be held in will call in your name directly inside the doors to the main entrance of The Grand Opera House for Classics concerts or the DuPont Country Club for Chamber concerts.
Subscription tickets are mailed together when payment is received for the order in full. If you have misplaced your tickets, please call 302-656-7442 for replacements.
Market Street offers a wide variety of restaurants, all within a short walk of The Grand. They range from traditional American to fusion, to upscale dining. Many offer locally sourced food and drink as well.
Parking lots are available at the DoubleTree Hotel, directly behind The Grand Opera House at 700 N. King Street, and at the Mid-town Park Garage, located at 805 N Orange Street.
Concerts average around two hours, including a 20-minute intermission.
Some concertgoers may dress up and others may dress more casually for DSO concerts. Many patrons wear business or casual business attire. However, what matters most is your concert experience, not how you look, so we encourage you to wear what makes you comfortable.
